2010 annual evidence update on hip fracture

The ( UK) NHS annual update on hip fracture is now available. This Annual Evidence Update has been released by NHS Evidence - emergency and urgent care in conjunction with NHS Evidence - trauma and orthopaedics. The scope of the literature search covers fractures affecting the proximal femur. This AEU is relevant to all health professionals, reflecting the multidisciplinary approach required across both primary and secondary care.

This guideline considers the signs and symptoms that can be used for predicting respiratory impairment in patients with MND, the diagnostic accuracy of investigations for detecting and monitoring respiratory impairment, the clinical and cost effectiveness of non-invasive ventilation for treating respiratory impairment and the information and support needs of patients and their families and carers relating to the use of non-invasive ventilation.

The Library has created a search filter for use in Ovid Medline or Ovid Embase that can be applied to a topic search to retrieve literature published in Australia, by Australians, or about Australia. The search has been added to the list of ‘expert searches’ which you will find on the saved searches list in your personal account.
